Drama
A theatre with 200 seats and a dedicated drama studio within the English department provide a realistic environment for the wide range of dramatic activity at the school. Each term, members of staff or boys direct productions and all boys may participate either as actors or directors, members of the technical teams responsible for stage management, make-up, lighting, sound, design, publicity or front-of-house management.
Pupils of the City of London School for Girls take part in many productions whilst visiting theatre companies often give performances at the School and professionals are invited to take classes. Full advantage is taken of workshops at the Globe Theatre opposite City of London School and Theatrical Productions at the National Theatre, the Barbican and in the West End.
There are three major productions every year. At least one is a musical and all age ranges of the School have the opportunity to act, sing, perform, stage manage or otherwise support the play.
