Recruit Test: Part 1: Part 2 Exam - cadets are taught about and then tested on: Principles of Flight, Airmanship, (including Aircraft Recognition) & Basic Navigation, On completing Parts 1 & 2 cadets are Proficient and can be promoted Junior NCO. This means they then start to take responsibility for the running of the RAF section. They advance, on merit, from Junior Corporal to Corporal to Sergeant. They can only advance to Flight Sergeant and Cadet Warrant Officer on completion of: Advanced Exam - On one subject chosen from: Air Navigation, Aircraft Handling, Propulsion, Radio & Radar NCO Cadre - Training and practical assessment in Lesson Preparation, Teaching Skills, Leadership Specialist Skill - Achievement of a specified standard in a practical activity such as Gliding, First Aid, Scuba Diving, Sailing, D of E Silver Expedition Air & Gliding Experience - Day trips offer all cadets an experience of both powered flight and gliding. These are arranged on a termly basis subject to age. Weekend & Annual Camps - Offer all cadets an experience of life on an RAF station and opportunities to achieve qualifications in: First Aid, Marskmanship and Swimming Proficiency |
